LONDON (Reuters) - World stocks dipped toward a 1-1/2 week low on Friday after the previous day's disappointing U.S. jobs report boosted expectations that the process of recovery in the world's biggest economy would be long and slow.

SYDNEY (AFP) – Mining giant Rio Tinto confirmed a huge take-up for its record rights offering after investors snapped up the Australian portion, allowing it to pay off a large chunk of its heavy debt.

KUALA LUMPUR, July 3 (Bernama) -- Malaysia recorded a trade surplus of RM10.02 billion in May this year. It is the 139th consecutive monthly trade surplus since November 1997.

Jakarta (ANTARA News/Asia Pulse) - Indonesia's largest coal producer PT Bumi Resources (JSX:BUMI) wants to expand its operations to gold mining in Sulawesi. Bumi may invest up to US$1 billion to develop the gold mines starting this year until 2013, its president Ari Hudaya said.
